Dear Photograph Lovers,

As Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, we have carried out a wide range of activities in different areas of culture and art since we were
inaugurated. While performing these activities which are equivalent to heritage, we have worked very hard in order to be able to serve you
the best and we will continue to work.

In our country and in our city, photography culture is developing day by day. We feel it at all areas. Recording itself, nature, history or
cultural artefact, mankind build a wide memory through photography. Based on this understanding, it is unthinkable that we, as local
authority, are indifferent to artistic and cultural efforts with such dimensions. In this respect, it is our duty to introduce the natural beauties,
history and cultural heritage of our Kayseri with the frames of photography lovers at the national level and to create an awareness for our
city.
Our city, Kayseri, has a rich heritage with its historical and cultural background. One of our cultural richness is the food. Traditional and
regional food culture in Kayseri dates back centuries. Having such a vast resource, conveying it to the next generations through the eyes of
photography lovers is a necessity of local government awareness. Therefore we organised “Kayseri gourmet Atlas” themed photography
contest. We are very pleased with the close interest of the photographers, diversity of photography and participation throughout Turkey.
All the entries which were sent to the 5th National Photography Contest are carefully reviewed and evaluated by an esteemed jury and the
winners were determined.
In the 5th Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality National Photography Contest, Uğur AYDIN from Kayseri won the first place. Ahmet Mücen
from Kayseri achieved second place and İsmail DAŞGELDİ from Kayseri came third. Yasin ÇETİN from Kayseri, Serap İKİYEK and Sertaç
NURTAN from Istanbul were awarded Honorable Mention.
In this book, we compiled the photographs which rank the highest and worth exhibiting. In this book, we put together photographs of the
winners and the value of the exhibition. As Kayseri Metropolitan municipality, as in other art branches, I would like you to know that our
works in the field of photography will continue to increase.
I would like to take this occasion to thank everyone who participated in our contest and salute all photography lovers.
