Collecting Reeds

The reeds, which grow only in the marshes, are used for various purposes and are
collected with great difficulty by Sindelhöyük villagers. Marshes is like a mine where
the villagers make their living... They collect reeds from the wetland for the baskets
they weave meticulously, they load them on the tractors. Finally the reeds, involved
in the yellowish face of the autumn, take the road to be weaved in the hands of the
artisans. They need to separate the reeds according to their length and thickness. All
the capital they have is these reeds grown in the wetland. They pile with great care
the reeds that nature produces in a tremendous manner. Final step is to hand them
over to the weaver.
