VEZIR HANI
Kayseri Ulu Camii’nin (Cami–i Kebir) kuzeydoğu köşesindedir. Giriş
kapısı doğu cephesinden olup, Kapalı Çarşı’nın bir bölümünü oluştu-
ran Urgancılar Çarşısı girişinin yanındadır. Han’ın duvarı, yanındaki
bedestenin duvarıyla birbirinden bir koridorla ayrılmıştır. Vezir Hanı,
kesme taştan yapılmış bir yapıdır. İki katlı ve iki avluludur. Girişteki
gayri muntazam küçük avludan sonra, ortasında eskiden bir çeşmenin
havuzu bulunduğu bildirilen gayet geniş bir avluya girilir. Revakları
altında bulunan iki ayrı merdivenle üst kata çıkılır. Girişteki kitabenin
yeri boştur. Günümüzde kullanılmakta olan Vezir Hanı’nda bir de yatır
bulunmaktadır.
Vezir Hanı, Sultan III. Ahmed döneminde Sadrazam Nevşehirli
Damat İbrahim Paşa tarafından 1724 yılında yaptırılmıştır. Çarşının
kıymetini arttırmak için çarşıda sadece kuyumcu, abacı, kumaşçı,
çuhacı gibi o günün itibar gören mesleklerinin faaliyet gösterebileceği
bir ferman ile şarta bağlamıştır. Bu uygulama ile handaki dükkanlar
çok kıymetlenmiştir. İbrahim Paşa’nın ölümünden sonra, 1731 yılında
yeni bir ferman ile esnafın istediği yerde mesleğini yürütebileceği
belirtilerek, öne sürülen şart serbest bırakılmıştır.
Kayseri Vakıflar Bölge Müdürlüğü’ne ait olan handa, bugün orta
avlu çevresinde bulunan 20’si şahsa ait 154 iş yerinden 12'si aktif olarak
çalışmaktadır. Derici esnafının çalıştığı dönemlerde, ağır koku nede-
niyle turistlerin gezemediği Vezir Hanı, 1970’lerde restore edilmiştir.

VEZIR INN

It is located in the northeast corner of Kayseri Ulu Mosque (Cami–i
Kebir). The entrance gate is from the east side and is next to the entrance
of the Urgancılar Bazaar which forms part of the Grand Bazaar. The Inns
wall is separated by a corridor with the wall of the Bedestan next to each
other. Vezir Inn is a structure made of cut stone. Two floors and two
courtyards. After the informal little hedonist in the entrance, a very large
courtyard is entered in the middle of which a pool of a former fountain is
reported. Two separate staircases beneath the porches lead to the upper
cave. There is also a deposit in the Vezir Inn, which is being used today.
The Vezir Inn was built in 1724 by the Grand Vizier Nevşehirli Damat
İbrahim Pasha during the reign of Sultan III. In order to increase the
importance of the bazaar and to increase its value, it was concluded with
an order that only the jewelery, lapidary, clothes, With this application,
shops are highly valued. After the death of Ibrahim Pasha, in 1731, a new
edict was issued, stating that the tradesmen who requested could carry
out his profession in the place where he wanted.
The building which belongs to the Kayseri Foundations Regional
Directorate, is active today in 12 out of 154 work places belonging to 20
persons in the vicinity of the central courtyard today. Vezir Inn, which
was not visited by tourists due to heavy smell, was restored in the 1970's
when the leather shop owner was working.
