                                                                                         ZAMANTI CASTLE
                                                                                         Melik Ghazi Castle
                                                                                         Melik Ghazi Castle, also known as Zamantı Castle, was built during the
                                                                                     Byzantine period in order to keep the Zamantı and Elbistan roads under
                                                                                     control, in a position dominated by Melikgazi Village, connected to the
                                                                                     Pazarören town of Pınarbaşı.
                                                                                         The hilly area on the continent of the Melikgazi Tomb was established.
                                                                                     After the Byzantines losing their dominance in the region, it is understood
                                                                                     from the traces that they have been repaired using the time of Danish-
                                                                                     mend, Seljuk and Ottoman respectively. It is an integrated structure with
                                                                                     calcareous rocks at the place where the castle is located. The castle built
                                                                                     during the Byzantine period was made of cut stone in a smaller scale. The
                                                                                     outer parts are cut with red and white stones. The inner parts are in Seljuk
                                                                                     technique and Horasan is in mortar fillings. The Danishmends and the
                                                                                     Seljuks strengthened this fortress with large cutting stones and enlarged
                                                                                     it. During the repair of the Seljuk period and the stones in the joints, there
                                                                                     are stonemark signs which are frequently used by the Seljuks. Near the
                                                                                     bastions of the castle a strip of black stone is cast from the neck. There are
                                                                                     a total of 13 towers of which nine are round, one is angular and the other
                                                                                     are flat. The large, round bush in the north of the castle was added later.
