SEYYID BURHANEDDIN TÜRBESI
Gültepe Mahallesi’nde, Seyyid Burhaneddin Mezarlığı’nın doğu-
sunda bulunmaktadır.
Seyyid Burhaneddin Hazretleri, 1244 yılında Kayseri’de vefat etmiş
ve mezarı üzerinde bir türbe yapılmamıştı. Kendisi daha çok ziyarete
ve dolayısıyla Fatihalar’a sebep olur düşüncesiyle hocaların, şeyhlerin
kabri üzeride göz okşayıcı türbeler yapılmasını istemiştir. Ancak ken-
disi için: “Kabrinin toprağı yıldızların altında, ağaçların gölgesinde olsun
isterim. Sultanu’l–ulema Baha Veled gibi zatların türbelerine mukabil, benim
üzerime türbe yapılmasından haya ederim” demiştir.
1894 yılında Kayseri’nin bağlı bulunduğu Ankara Vilayeti'nin Valisi
Abidin Paşa teftiş maksadıyla Kayseri’ye gelir. Abidin Paşa üst makamlara
yazı göndermiş, Sultan II. Abdülhamid’in talimatıyla H.1312/M.1894

SEYYID BURHANEDDIN TOMB
This tomb is located to the east of the Seyyid Burhaneddin Cemetery
in Gültepe neighborhood.
Seyyid Burhaneddin died in Kayseri in 1244 and there was no tomb
on the grave. He asked for more visit places and consequently to make
eye–catching specimens on the graves of the Sheiks. But for himself: “I
want my grave to be in the shade of the trees, under the stars. After Sulta-
nu'l–Ulema, I will be ashemed to have a tomb.”
In 1894, the governor of the province of Ankara, to which Kayseri is
affiliated, came to Kayseri for the purpose of inspecting Abidin Pasha.
Governor Abidin Pasha sent letters to the upper authorities, in accordance
with Sultan II. Abdulhamid's instructions H.1312 / M.1894, the tomb was
built with the foundation budget and the sultan gave a chandelier here
as a gift. Ali Emiri Effendi wrote the monunment of the work.
