The building was opened to service in 1969 by a branch of Hacettepe
University, and then transferred to Erciyes University. In 1980, Prof. Dr.
Ahmet Hulusi Köker’s long efforts have resulted in the final repair of the
present state and in 1991 some additions were made and the building was
transferred to the Medical Faculty of Erciyes University as the Institute
of Medical History. When it was transferred to the Kayseri Metropolitan
Municipality in 2012, a work on establishing the Seljuk Museum was
initiated. The museum was opened as a museum under the name of the
Seljuks Civilization Museum, which introduced the Anatolian Seljuks world
in different directions, was opened on February 21, 2014, after a period
of two years of preparation for the creation of the museum collection
and the preparation of the museum collection.
